Laboratory Overview
ECSI’s technicians and scientists bring more than 40 years of experience in ichthyologic collection, processing, and taxonomy for marine, estuarine, and freshwater systems throughout the eastern United States.
Our laboratory is equipped with advanced microscopy and supported by extensive fisheries and invertebrate identification resources, literature, and records. ECSI processes ichthyoplankton and invertebrate samples for Clean Water Act Section 316(b) projects across the Delaware River and Bay, mid-Atlantic coast, Great Lakes region, and Ohio River drainage.
ECSI also supports entrainment and impingement sampling in coordination with our industrial operations team, helping clients move from field collection to laboratory analysis and reliable project reporting.
Quality Control Procedure
Quality control inspections follow a Continuous Sampling Plan, Type-1 and are routinely performed by a senior lab technician or scientist. While we strive for the highest quality work, these inspections allow a maximum Average Outgoing Quality Limit of 5% for each phase of sample processing.
