Built on Environmental Impact Monitoring

Environmental Consulting Services, Inc. is a Delaware-based environmental consulting company headquartered in Middletown and serving clients across the mid-Atlantic coast, Great Lakes region, and Ohio River drainage.


Founded in 1984, ECSI supports environmental permitting, monitoring, compliance, and ecological assessment needs through field-tested expertise, specialized equipment, experienced personnel, and defensible data.

Section 316(b) Experience

ECSI was built on expert knowledge of environmental impact monitoring, including work mandated by cooling water intake regulations under Section 316(b) of the Clean Water Act.

ECSI’s scientists and technicians support a wide range of environmental monitoring and ecological assessment services, including wetland delineation, bottom trawling, beach seining, taxonomy, entrainment and impingement studies, environmental site assessments, and permitting support.

Field-Ready Research Vessels for Environmental Monitoring

Conveniently stored on trailers at ECSI headquarters, our five research vessels are ready

for deployment wherever and whenever field work requires them. The fleet supports work across varied

sampling environments, including bottom trawling, beach seining, crab trap and gill netting,

water and sediment sample collection, and electrofishing.
