ECSI's lab team is ready to meet all your fish and aquatic invertebrate identification needs! Our expert taxonomists and rigorous quality control procedure ensure we provide reliable data for our clients.
ECSI's professional technicians and scientists have over 40 years of experience providing ichthyologic collection, processing, and taxonomy services in marine, estuarine, and freshwater systems throughout the eastern United States. The laboratory team follows strict chain of custody and quality control procedures and is equipped with state of the art microscopy. ECSI maintains an extensive library of fisheries and invertebrate literature, identification resources, and fish and invertebrate records.
ECSI primarily samples and processes ichthyoplankton and invertebrates from the Delaware River and Bay for numerous Clean Water Act Sections 316(b) projects. The lab has recently expanded and also processes samples from waters throughout the mid-Atlantic coast, Great Lakes region, and Ohio River drainage.
In addition to processing samples in our laboratory, ECSI's expert technicians and scientists are proficient in entrainment and impingement sampling. Click here to learn more about the industrial services we offer.
Quality control inspections follow a Continuous Sampling Plan, Type-1 and are routinely performed by a senior lab technician or scientist. While we strive for the highest quality work, these inspections allow a maximum Average Outgoing Quality Limit of 5% for each phase of sample processing.
Raw data in the form of original datasheets or complete, clean databases? Extensive written reports with tables and figures? All of the above? ECSI's organized team is here for all your data needs!
